About me

I’m a retired university lecturer who’s had a life-long interest in writing and broadcasting. I’ve written four works of fiction – two short story collections and two novels – and published two books of interviews ‘Tales Out of ?School’ and ‘Whose Past Is It Anyway?’ I’ve  been a columnist with The Irish News and  Daily Ireland  in Belfast over a 17-year period.  I’ve broadcast with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and BBC Radio Newcastle  during the 1970s,  and with BBC  Radio 4, BBC Radio Five Live and BBC Radio Ulster since the 1980s. I miss my day-job as a university lecturer (young people are good for you) but being retired does give me more time for blogging, writing and jogging/running. Life, all things considered, is sweet.
